LBM Challenge 9

In this phase, S2 Semifinals, there will be no critiquing. Just submission. This may be the last week before we declare the finalists...

Lately, all the whosit designers have been producing resort collections. I reckon, since we're down to the final five, that you have thought about what your DA Fashion Week collections are going to look like. So this is your first chance to convince us that your collection should be under the LBM tents.

Design a three-piece resort collection that's a wearable spin-off of whatever your collection will be. Remember this is a RESORT collection... wearability in a summery resort is crucial. It can compose of all separates, evening dresses, or a mix. As long as it's resort.

You need to learn how to work in a bit of a time crunch, seemingly the final three will have to design a nine-piece collection in 3-4 weeks. This is due on Monday, July 20th at 6PM Eastern US time.

I tried to set a theme for this three piece collection

My theme is about "beach" I use beadings, and played with color textiles, and used colors that emobodies the mood of what we normally see in a beach resort. I also carefully chose cuts and fabrics that embodies that "resort" look.

Barrel tube top- in cotton silk weave, I've used beads held together by a very durable elastic and attatche it on the garment to act as the suspender and also to add aesthetics to the design.

Bermuda shorts- in an off white polyester fabric.

Accessories:

Straw Bag
Polka dot shoes

Wrapped Top- The straps are adorn with beading to add drama to this simple look. The coloor I chose is a very simple light aqua blue fading in to white. Fabric is in lycra

Palazzo Pants- Fabric is in cotton, same color treatment is used for this as also with the wrapped Top

Trapeze assymentrical dress- Again adorned with that lavish beadworks that serves purpose and design as well. In this look the beadwork is in an assymetrical position that ties down the whole look. The fabric I chose for this is a lined chiffon. The lining won't show coz it has to be sawn on the chiffon fabric and is in a shorter lenght but the color of the lining is in light fuschia pink, the Chiffon fabric in other hand is allso in a mild fuschia pink with a wash of dark fuschia on the bottom part of the fabric.

My insperation for this look is an "Orchid flower" I guess it kinda shows with the structure and colors.
